The Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) has responded (click here) to Rita Donaghy's report into deaths in the construction industry (click here). Of the 28 recommendations, 23 were fully accepted. However the imposition of further statutory safety duties on company directors was not accepted, with the DWP saying that it would need to look further at this recommendation.
