The Columbus Energy Review Committee, a group “created to provide guidance and recommendations regarding energy aggregation” will meet this Friday, December 5, 2014, at 1:00 p.m., according to a press release from the City of Columbus. At the meeting, Southeast Ohio Public Energy Council (SOPEC) aggregation administrator Roger Wilkens “will discuss SOPEC’s comprehensive approach to community choice aggregation,” according to the release. The committee will also “review an overview submitted by Neil Buccino, service director for the City of Niles regarding Niles’ opt-in gas aggregation program.” The advisory committee will make a recommendation to Mayor Michael B. Coleman and City Council President Andrew J. Ginther regarding whether Columbus should create a local electricity and natural gas buying group. The meeting takes place in City Council Chambers within the Columbus City Hall.
