The Equality Act 2010 (Gender Pay Gap Information) Regulations 2016 have been delayed. The consultation response is awaited. It is now envisaged that the regulations will be laid before Parliament sometime in the next few months, and commence in April 2017. It is still unclear whether the first “relevant date” will remain as 30 April 2017 (making the first gender pay gap reports due by the end of April 2018) or whether this will be amended to account for the delay. For further information, see our Q&A here.
ACAS has released a new guide, ‘Managing People’ (available here) which aims to help line managers “run effective teams” and “make businesses more productive”.
Draft regulations to increase the national minimum wage from 1 October 2016 have been approved by the House of Lords. From April 2017, all national minimum wage rates (including the national living wage) will be uprated in parallel.
