The Government has announced that there have been more than two million switches under Current Account Switch Service (CASS) since the launch of the voluntary scheme in September 2013.

The service is free to use and is used by the majority of the banks and building societies. It is one of the reforms made by the Government to simplify banking for customers and improve competition.

More recently, there has been more focus on raising public awareness of the service through the launch of a campaign by Bacs, which runs CASS.
