South African police are investigating accusations that telecommunications giant MTN bribed officials to acquire a operating license in Iran.
According to MTN competitor, Turkcell (a Turkish mobile company), South African and Iranian officials were given cash and other incentives including talks about weapons deals.
MTN denies the allegations.
