AL2010-192, Noland Health Services, Inc., Montevallo, AL: Proposes to establish and operate a 36-bed specialty care assisted living facility. Administrative Law Judge approved to establish a 24-bed specialty care assisted living facility. CON 2691-SCALF issued 12/31/2014.

AL2010-193, FSQC-AL, LLC d/b/a Ashton Gables in Riverchase, Birmingham, AL: Proposes to add 12 specialty care assisted living beds to the existing 48-bed specialty care assisted living facility. Applicant agreed to withdraw application at the Contested Case Hearing.

AL2010-195, Daniel Senior Living of Inverness I, LLC, Hoover, AL: Proposes to convert 24 assisted living beds to 24 specialty care assisted living beds. Administrative Law Judge approved to relocate 12 specialty care assisted living facility beds from FSQC’s facility, formerly known as Ashton Gables facility, to Daniel Senior Living at Inverness facility and for the conversion of a total of 12 additional SCALF beds at Daniel Senior Living at Inverness facility. AL2014-032, FSCQ-AL, LLC d/b/a LakeView Estates, Birmingham, AL: Proposes to relocate 48 specialty care assisted living beds from Morningside of Riverchase to LakeView Estates. Administrative Law Judge approved to relocate 12 specialty care assisted living beds from Ashton Gables to LakeView Estates. CON 2693-SCALF issued 1/2/2015.

AL2015-001, Bio-Medical Applications of Alabama, Inc., d/b/a Fresenius Medical Care Dialysis Services of Bay Minette: Proposes to expand the existing 10-station ESRD facility by adding six hemodialysis stations, one home training station, and one isolation station for a total of 18 stations. Opposition: None.

AL2014-026, Select Specialty Hospitals, Inc., Birmingham, AL: Proposes to lease 38 general acute care hospital beds from Brookwood Medical Center, to convert into long term acute care hospital beds, and to utilize the beds to establish a 38-bed LTACH on the campus of Brookwood Medical Center. Opposition: Noland Hospital Birmingham, LLC and Noland Hospital  Shelby, LLC filed intervention/opposition and a request for a contested case hearing. Administrative Law Judge submitted Recommended Order denying this project.

The Board rejected the Administrative Law Judge’s Recommended Order and voted to approve the CON application.
