Changes to the Immigration Rules relating to Tier 2 have been laid before Parliament. The key changes are set out below and are due to take effect from 6 April:
- Minimum salary thresholds are increasing slightly and appropriate salary rates for occupations in Tier 2 are changing, including the High Earner category. Please click here to view the table.
- The Tier 2 “cooling off period” which currently prevents most Tier 2 migrants from returning within a 12 month period will not apply to migrants previously granted Tier 2 leave for three months or less.
- The shortage occupation list has been updated to take into account some of the recommendations made in the Migration Advisory Committee’s report published on 25 February 2015.
