New Online Services Available from the Hungary DPA From 1 October 2015, the Hungarian Data Protection and Freedom of Information Agency (Hungary DPA) offers several new online services via its website, to reduce the administrative burdens on data controllers. These include: (i) the submission of electronic filings; (ii) notification of the identity of data protection officers; (iii) submission of complaints in relation to the Schengen Information System; and (iv) the scheduling of meetings with the Hungary DPA. These services are accessible using the following link: http://www.naih.hu/online-uegyintezes.html (available only in Hungarian). The Hungary DPA has also made its Data Protection Register permanently available to the public online. The Register lists registrations which data controllers filed with the Hungary DPA after 1 January 2012. The Register’s database, which is searchable only in Hungarian, will be updated weekly. The Register is accessible at the following link: http://www.naih.hu/kereses-az-adatvedelmi-nyilvantartasban.html. Inquiries about the details of registrations filed with the Hungary DPA before 31 December 2011 will continue to have to be submitted to the Hungary DPA in writing. The Hungary DPA generally responds to such requests within two weeks.
