Following to the guidelines issued by the Garante on July 4 2013, the Garante has published a new Vademecum in order to provide further clarifications in relation to promotional offers and spam matters.

By means of such Vademecum, on one side, companies may find instructions about how to process consumer personal data in a lawful way also in order to “loyalize” consumers without being intrusive, and, on the other side, consumers may discover how to protect their privacy avoiding an unauthorized intrusion into their private life with undesired messages and calls.

More specifically the Vademecum analyses, among others, issues related to marketing calls, fidelity cards, promotions carried out through email, sms, fax and/or social networks, as well as the functioning of the “Registro delle Opposizioni”.
