President Barack Obama (D) has issued an executive order establishing two intellectual property (IP) enforcement advisory committees. Consisting of federal agency heads or deputies, the “Senior Intellectual Property Enforcement Advisory Committee” will develop a Joint Strategic Plan every three years to enforce the nation’s IP laws. The “Intellectual Property Enforcement Advisory Committee,” which will include Senate-confirmed agency personnel involved in IP enforcement, will be responsible for implementing the plan. See Federal Register, February 11, 2011.
