The Commission has published a report on crowdfunding in the EU capital markets union (CMU). The report assesses national regimes, identifies best practice and presents the results of the Commission’s monitoring of the evolution of the crowdfunding sector. The Commission concludes the market is small but growing, and Member States are increasingly taking measures to protect investors. It thinks that, as the markets are invariably local, there is no need at this point for EU legislative action. (Source: Commission discusses crowdfunding in the CMU)
