Since the article “Registrant Can’t Get a Certificate for Half a Year” was published, the State Administration of Industry and Commerce (hereinafter referred to as the SAIC) paid high attention to this matter and had immediately enjoined the departments concerned to verify the situation, respond to such concerns and initiate internal rectification and reform in earnest.
Due to the cumbersome procurement procedures and the poor cooperation among different sectors, the certificates of trademark registration have been delayed in sending out. The SAIC issued an official apology for the inconvenience brought to the trademark registrants and would draw lessons from this matter to optimize processes, improve efficiency and prevent similar issues from happening again.
Since March 28, 2016, with the supply of paper in place, the SAIC has started printing and issuing certificates to registrants. It is expected that all accumulated certificates can be issued by the end of May 2016.
