Compañia de Alumbrado Eléctrico de San Salvador, S.A de C.V, known as CAESS, acting on behalf of different distribution companies, has called for tender to enroll in a process for supplying 400MW of power and its related energy. The general bidding rules to enroll in this public tender for long term contracts, which have been approved by the Superintendencia General de Electricidad y Telecomunicaciones (SIGET), are available here.

Companies or individuals may apply individually or through partnership (as defined on the bidding rules) provided they ensure the supply by generator units, either existing or new ones, located in any of the countries that are members of the Regional Energy Market outside El Salvador, and in the case of being awarded, they shall ensure the startup of the new generators unit to operate in the terms and conditions stated in the bidding rules. Likewise, companies or individuals may apply individually or through partnerships within Salvadoran territory who shall guarantee the supply with existing or new generation, and in case of being awarded, they shall ensure the startup of the new generation units in the terms established in the rules. Participants may be generator companies or energy traders. The supply offered may be or not, based on renewal resources.

Those who are interested in participating in this process may have access to the bidding rules and to register as participants from August 25th through September 14th 2016.
