Taking the next step to connecting the two capital cities of Malaysia and Singapore, the Malaysian Government and Singapore Government initiated a strategic project in 2013 known as The Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail. This is expected to become the first high speed railway in Southeast Asia expanding over the length of approximately 350km in 90 minutes. The project is expected to begin in 2017 and completed in 2022.
