At FSA’s late November Board meeting, it made:
- the Treaty of Lisbon (Consequential Handbook Amendments) Instrument 2009: this took effect on 1 December and amends most parts of the Handbook and UNFCOG. The changes amend and update current references to European terms to bring them up to date with the Lisbon Treaty; and
- the BIPRU (Liquidity) Consequential Amendments Instrument 2009: this mainly took effect from 1 December, but the changes to IPRU(BSOC) do not take effect until June 2010. The changes amend BIPRU, the Glossary, SYSC, GENPU, IPRU(BANK), IPRU(BSOC) and SUP. The main changes apply SYSC 11 to insurers only, because BIPRU 12 applies to BIPRU firms, and making minor changes to IPRU(BANK). IPRU(BANK) will be deleted in its entirety from 1 November 2010.
