The Commission has published a proposal to postpone the transposition deadline of Solvency 2 to 30 June 2013, with an application date of  1 January 2014 (subject to further transitional provisions). This is mainly because of the continued delay to the Omnibus 2 Directive, which will amend Solvency 2 by adapting it to the “new” European Supervisory Architecture.
