The European Parliament has issued a motion for a resolution to wind up the debate on the statements by the Council and the Commission, pursuant to Rule 123(2) of the Rules of Procedure, on the decision to leave the EU resulting from the UK referendum.

The resolution covers 16 key points, with the main focus on triggering notification under Article 50 TEU immediately in order to prevent damaging uncertainty for everyone and to protect the Union’s integrity. As a result, the European Parliament has asked the UK Prime Minister to notify the outcome of the referendum to the European Council on 28-29 June, where this notification will launch the withdrawal procedure.
