The first sound trademark registration application in China, Radio show intro of China Radio International, has been preliminary approved and published on 13 February 2016. This will be the first sound trademark registration application that the China Trademark Office (CTMO) plans to approve. According to the introduction by the State Administration of Industry and Commerce, a sound trademark is a trademark where sound is used to perform the trademark function of uniquely identifying the commercial origin of products or services.   Sound   trademark  may   consist of musical sounds, such as a piece of music; or non-musical sounds, such as the voice of nature, human or animal sounds; or the mixture of both.
