Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), established to provide a broad-based financial services hub for local, regional and international institutions. Located on Al Maryah Island, ADGM is a financial free-zone, where registered institutions will operate within a regulatory framework with its own judicial system and legislative infrastructure.

ADGM has now published its first set of Regulations. These Regulations provide the legal basis for registration of businesses within ADGM and for many of the transactions carried out within it. The Regulations are now in force and cover Application of English Law, Companies & Commercial Licensing, Employment, Insolvency, Real Estate and Strata Title.

Companies and individuals operating or seeking to transact in the ADGM should familiarise themselves with the Regulations. In the above hyperlinks we have examined some of the key features of and legal issues raised by the Regulations and what they may mean for companies doing business in ADGM.
