October 2016 - For the last few months, Ukraine continued improving its competition laws and regulations.
On 28 September 2016, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine announced that the amnesty period for merger control violations is extended for half a year until 15 March 2017. Initially any concentration completed prior to 15 September 2015 without a merger clearance was eligible for amnesty if undertaking applied to the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine until 15 September 2016.
Thus, if the parties decide to apply to the competition authority to clear past violations of the competition law, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine will impose the fixed fine of approx. EUR 3,500 (regardless of parties' revenues).
