For the second time since June, an estimated 100 nonunion passenger service employees at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport struck G2 Secure Staff LLC and Eulen America. The workers claim that their employers have used threats or reprisal and interrogated employees in an effort to hinder an organizing drive by the SEIU.

550 baggage handlers, cabin cleaners, and ramp workers employed by Menzies Aviation, Inc., at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport conducted a one-day strike. The dispute stems from an unfair labor practice charge filed by the SEIU, alleging that Menzies has engaged in various unfair labor practices.

Striking drayage drivers at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach staged a three-day picket at marine terminals in the port complex, company warehouses, and distribution centers. Since late July, the drivers staged intermittent strikes to pressure Pacific 9 Transportation to classify them as employees rather than independent contractors.
