In the context of on-going investigations into the Energy sector RWE has proposed structural changes to increase competition in the German gas sector. RWE, a German gas supplier, is under investigation by the European Commission in relation to possible anti-competitive behaviour in connection with its transmission system in the west of Germany. RWE has proposed selling its West German gas transmission system network to an independent operator to ease access to the market.
