The 2014 Annual Report of the Competition Authority of Botswana (CAB) noted an increase in abuse of dominance cases involving local companies. In total, the CAB investigated 61 cases between March 2013 and March 2014, 33 of which were new. In that same year, CAB referred 6 cases of anti-competitive conduct to the Botswana Competition Commission (BCC) and resolved 25 cases without referral to the BCC. The companies which were alleged to be engaging in abuse of dominance included commercial banks, a housing service provider and a supermarket chain.
