Environmental Health Professionals Australia Symposium

On 30 and 31 October 2014, Kylie Walsh, Elisabeth Brett and Stephanie Bower attended the Environmental Health Professionals Australia (EHPA) Symposium in Echuca, together with over 100 environmental health practitioners.

The theme of the 2014 Symposium was Generalists in a Specialist World – modern life of an EHO, recognising environmental health practitioners are required to assess and manage public health risks across a broad range of environments.

We were pleased to hear from a diverse range of speakers on a number of interesting and topical subjects, including the environmental and nutritional benefits of bugs as food!

Kylie Walsh presented a rooming house case study, which included an overview of the enforcement tools available to councils when dealing with poorly managed rooming houses.

Another highlight was the Halloween themed 'Frightful Fun' Symposium Dinner. Thanks to EHPA for a fantastic event!
