Shanghai Patent & Trademark Law Office, LLC (SPTL), founded in 1984, is an international IP firm in China. We are approaching overseas and domestic clients with full-range IP services at one point of contact, which cover IP strategic planning, filing and prosecution, exploitation and enforcement, etc. SPTL is headquartered in Shanghai, winged by the Beijing and Hong Kong offices. Over the last three decades, SPTL has developed an extensive network with thousands of clients and associates across 100+ countries and districts.

SPTL has a staff of around 300, including nearly 200 patent attorneys, trademark practitioners and qualified legal professionals. The IP professionals mostly have overseas studies and/or work experience in the IP sector.

SPTL features efficient internal management spanning from formalities, quality control, personnel training to information security. Through customized team services and paperless digitalization management, we assist overseas and domestic clients, including MNC’s Asia-Pacific or Chinese headquarters, R&D centers, JVs, WOFEs in China in diverse IP areas. Our head office is located in South China which is a vibrant frontier for IPRs creation and enforcement and we are therefore of plentiful IP experience and credentials with the geographic advantages.

SPTL is greatly involved in international and domestic IP events. We are currently members of International Trademark Association (INTA), International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO), Licensing Executives Society (LES), Vice Chancellor of China Intellectual Property Society (CIPS), Executive Director of All-China Patent Attorneys Association (ACPAA), Vice Chairman of China Trademark Association (CTA) and Vice Chairman of Trademark Attorneys Sub-Association (CTA).
