Data Breaches - What To Do When Your Client Falls Victim

Fenwick & West LLP

Description

The number of data breaches has risen significantly in the past few years. More and more companies, both large and small, are having their computer networks compromised and are looking for guidance on how to respond. This interactive program will examine what companies should do when they suffer a data breach. We will address several common situations that companies are likely to face and the best practices for responding to those situations. We will have time for questions at the end of the program.

Expected Learning Take-aways

  • What are the responsibilities of companies with regard to cybersecurity?
  • What must be disclosed in the event of a data breach, who must be notified, and when must disclosures and notifications take place.
  • How companies can best position themselves in anticipation of future litigation during a data breach.
