CFPB’s first Annual Report regarding the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act *

On March 20, 2012, the US Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ("CFPB" or "Bureau") submitted its first Annual Report ("Report") to Congress regarding its administration of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ("FDCPA") during the previous year.

Final agreement filed in attorneys general $25 billion settlement with Servicers *

As we reported in our February 15, 2012, client alert, the US federal government and 49 state attorneys general reached a $25 billion settlement agreement (the "Agreement") with five of the nation's largest mortgage servicers (the "Servicers").
