ECJ rules that the broadcasting of music within private dental practices does not entitle music producers to remuneration *

On 15 March 2012, the European Court of Justice (ECJ) issued a preliminary ruling on the questions referred by the Italian Court of Appeal of Turin in the occasion of a proceeding regarding the obligation of a dentist to pay a remuneration to the phonogram producers for the broadcasting of phonograms in his dental practice by way of background music.
