SEC issues final rules regarding the new compensation committee independence requirements under Dodd-Frank *

On June 20, 2012 the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) issued final rules clarifying the provisions of Section 952 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd-Frank) regarding the independence of compensation committee members and of the compensation consultants, lawyers and other advisers that serve them.
