Dr Stanley Lai, SC is the Head of the Firm’s Intellectual Property Practice and Co-Head of the Cybersecurity & Data Protection Practice and Partner of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department.
Stanley specialises in all forms of IP litigation and information technology disputes, and is also a commercial litigator. Stanley has appeared as counsel in a variety of commercial disputes, including insolvency matters. Stanley also maintains a practice in International Arbitration, where he has appeared as counsel and arbitrator. He currently serves on the panel of Arbitrators of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre.
Stanley is recognised as a leading individual by various legal publications, including Chambers Asia-Pacific, The Legal 500 Asia Pacific, Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific, Lexology Index, World Trademark Review 1000 and IAM Patent 1000. Stanley was named as one of Asia’s Top 15 Intellectual Property Lawyers in 2022 and 2024 by Asian Legal Business, and was named Intellectual Property Lawyer of the Year at The Legal 500 Southeast Asia Awards 2023. In the 2026 edition of The Best Lawyers in Singapore, Stanley was recognised as “Lawyer of the Year” in Technology Law.
