New California law requires placement agents and some investment advisers to register as lobbyists

USA - December 16 2010 Effective January 1, 2011, placement agents and, under certain circumstances, investment advisers and their personnel involved in soliciting government clients in California will be required to register as "lobbyists" under State and local lobbying laws.
